Bohdan O. Szuprowiczabout this book: This is a story about "love at first sight" in the most unexpected circumstances you can imagine between people from completely different worlds during a very tense and dangerous period of the Cold War.
The author studied the expansion of the Soviet Union throughout the world particularly in Africa, the Middle East and Central and South America. As a result the story is partially a memoir of places visited and people encountered set up in the political background of the 1960's and 1970's but it is complete fiction as far as characters are concerned.
The main lesson to be learned from this story is that totalitarian states may come and go but human relationships will exist and survive no matter what. The original title for the story was "Fires Down Below" which was a title chosen for a much longer book focusing on attempts to stop South Africa from developing a nuclear weapons capability. The story is in fact a fragment of the longer book still in development which may eventually be published on Amazon Kindle.
The author is currently much more interested in chaotic development in Iraq and the Middle East and is working on a different story of creating an independent nuclear Kurdistan allied with Israel as a means to control the developments in the Middle East.
While the original idea for the book was to appeal to politically sensitive readers all over the world, the love affair aspect was introduced to get the attention of larger segments of the populations in many countries. We already identifies readers in USA,UK,Canada,France, and Brazil.
