Carol Roundabout this book: Can you imagine what it would be like to sit down and have a one-on-one conversation with your Savior? Can you picture yourself sitting together on a carpet of clover near a small mountain river? No one is around to interrupt your dialogue. The only sounds are of the water as it flows on its course downstream, the occasional rustling of the grass as a forest creature timidly checks out the intrusion in his world and the call of a bird seeking its mate.
What would you discuss? What questions would you have? What would He ask you? How long would He be able to spend time with you before He had to move on?
While we can only imagine what it would be like, we can have a more intimate relationship with our Lord and Savior through spending quality time with Him each morning before our day gets busy. Almost 15 years ago, I began seeking a closer relationship with Him. My 28-year marriage was falling apart and I was lost. I didn't know who I was. My identity was wrapped up in being a wife, mother and teacher. My nest was empty and I soon found myself alone.
During my morning time with Jesus, I began to pour out my heart to Him in a prayer journal. Through journaling my thoughts and prayers to Him, I began to heal, to forgive, to grow spiritually...and He has led me on a journey I never dreamed I would have. I've learned when you trust Jesus, each day is a new adventure just waiting to be lived.
In "Journaling with Jesus: How to Draw Closer to God," you'll be inspired and learn how to began a daily prayer journal. After reading this short book, and then signing the covenant with God at the end, you'll began a 40-day journey that will take you to the next level in your spiritual growth.
What has journaling done for me? It has taught me:
• to slow down and listen for that still, small voice.
• to let go of the past, forgive others and find healing.
• to let go of the need to always be in control.
• to place my complete trust in God.
Furthermore, keeping a daily prayer journal has helped me to focus during prayer time, leading to a closer relationship with God as well as finding a peace and contentment like no other.
