Ruth Kyserabout this book: "Laurie's Heart" is the final book in "The Morgan Family Saga" series.
This book completes the story of the Morgan family and Samuel Morgan's ancestors. "Laurie's Heart" tells the story of his parents -- Clayton and Laurie Morgan.
Clayton Morgan loves his family's cattle ranch, the Bluecreek Ranch. But after losing a college buddy to a violent crime, he makes the decision to leave the ranch and his family behind to go into law enforcement.
Then a dark-haired, brown-eyed shy young woman by the name of Laurie Lambright comes into his life. Even though he's attracted to her, she lets it be known right up front that she's not interested in having anything to do with a police officer.
Set during the turbulent years of the mid-1960s, "Laurie's Heart" not only follows the young couple's difficult journey to love, but also takes the readers back to a historic time in our nation's history.
I actually lived through this time period, so this book was in some ways a little easier for me to write--as far as research went. However, I don't understand why, but the book was actually the most difficult for me to write of the three books in the series. Perhaps it was because it was the last one and I was having a difficult time letting go of this family I have been writing stories about for three years.
A lot of my own emotions, hopes and dreams were pored into this final book in the series. Perhaps that was because I was of that time period and could have actually lived the life that Laurie lived. For whatever reason, I hope the readers will enjoy the entire series and be inspired to live for God because of them.
