Dr. Margaret Arandaabout this book: You have to watch Australia, the movie, with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman before reading this book. And then guess which scene the book was based on. I wrote this book in 10 days, and it just flowed like a song.
You ask yourself: why did I have such a hard childhood? Why were things so terrible for me, when I was only an innocent child with big brown eyes and had no real idea of what was going on around me? Why did I have to suffer so much? Why didn't someone save me? Where was God when I needed him?
You may have turned to drugs, sex, prostitution, alcohol, or other vices to try to drown out the bad memories. Well, let me tell you something. You can't drown a dead person. And emotionally, you are dead to the world. You need restoring! So we go back to your childhood, and YOU write down the good and the bad; in later Chapters, YOU write down why you think God allowed this to happen; and YOU write down how everything has helped to make you the person that you are today. Something good comes from something bad. THAT is a promise that we have.
Get together with us on FB when we review the Book together in Bible-Study style, and/or hold your own personal study by yourself or with a few neighbors. This is real life. You were born to live a full, loving, beloved, and happy life. You were not born to suffer, to have pain or rejection, or to be mistreated by anyone. Ever. So get some Courage. It may not be a yellow brick road, but it's a way to someone real ~ the way to God. It leads to more than what you ever thought it would.
