Book: Everything Beautiful - And Other Stories by Jeremy Mark Lanecategories: Book, Literary Fiction, God, Spirituality, Meaning, Purpose, Christian Fiction
Jeremy Mark Laneabout this book: "Everything Beautiful" is ultimately a spiritual book, though a subtle one. Weaving in and out of the lives of various characters is the search for God in the midst of various challenges and difficulties. Is the prayer of a paralytic heard? When does love mean walking away?
The darkest times in our lives are often the ones that force us out of the ordinary existence that we tend to accept. When we reach light again, every day things are no longer taken for granted and we begin living in minutes instead of days. We see God in things we used to glance over. We search for Him there, in those minutes, as well.
In the search for God naturally comes the search for everything that is beautiful. Some of the stories in this book are not "easy", and will force the reader to think a little bit. There will be difficulty in life, sure, but there will also be beauty.
