J.T. Livingstonabout this book: I usually come up with the title for a book first, and then create a storyline around that title. If you ever watched and loved the television series, "Highway to Heaven" and "Touched by an Angel", then you will love the first book in The Heavenly Grille Cafe series. I have always been fascinated by angels and by what Heaven must be like, so...I created my fictional version of both in this first novel. I researched the hierarchy of angels and took teachings from my local pastor as to what Heaven might be like. I listened to stories from other people about family members they dreamed about, conversations they had with them in those dreams, and, incorporated that idea into the storyline. The book wrote itself. So many days, I would sit before my computer with a totally blank mind, no idea what the next chapter would be about...before I knew it, my fingers would be flying across the keyboard. The three main angels came to life on my screen and in the book: Max (a former Gladiator), Bertie (known in Heaven as the Naughty Angel because of her inability to keep her curse words to herself), and, Doug (a soldier who died in 1953 under friendly fire conditions). The main character in Book One is a young woman, Amanda Turner, who has lost everything important to her...everything except her faith in God. She befriends another young woman who is totally opposite to Amanda in spirit and personality; somehow the two become best friends. That friendship is tested to its max when Kris Devone's infant child is kidnaped days before Christmas 2011. If you are in need of having your own faith in mankind replenished, then you will thoroughly enjoy Book One. It will leave you laughing, crying, and seeping with anger over the horrible things we humans often inflict upon one another. The book is a quick read, and will leave you hungering for more stories about the angels and their young protege.
