Nancy Janesabout this book: The Boy Who Walked A Way is a short story that morphed into a novella. I had been retired a few months and missed my work as a Clinical Social Worker. A writer and lover of books the story of Jal emerged as a substitute for my active work life. As the year turned from 1999 to the year 2000 there was a lot of anxiety in the air, Y2K, etc.. The national News constantly speculated and dwelled on the possibilities of Armageddon and people responded by becoming apprehensive and worried. So,I began a story of world catastrophe seen through the eyes of a boy. Everyone has a story and each is unique to the individual. And so is Jal’s, an imaginary allegory set in the world of 2162 in which he has to cope with loss and bereavement. He has the courage to set out on a seven days journey to find a land at peace.
