John Edward Savageabout this book: The Mysterious Castle is about a Family who live in Cornwall. The adventure is set around one ordinary day with a twist. Taking one simply wrong direction leads the girls to a day of mystery, intrigue and suspense at the hands of THE MYSTERIOUS CASTLE.
I have always enjoyed to write and have lots of ideas for different books. The Mysterious Castle always kept coming back to me and I felt there was something there that could lead to more writing. My teacher at school encouraged me to write everything down.
The title was the easy part as I always knew I wanted the book to be set in a Castle. It took around six months to write the book and choosing the picture for the front was the hardest. My twin brother did all the drawings and we wanted to show people our age that you can achieve great things if you put your mind to it.
One day someone laughed at me and said you will never get published your a wee boy. That was a kick in the teeth because this was an adult and I felt they should support us so that gave me a bit of a set back. However, my mum said, you can do this John and I did and I proved him wrong. Not only have I managed to get published but I have sold over 300 books so far since the 28th October 2014 and still going strong.
I decided to dedicate the last few months to writing the book to raise money for my local Boys Brigade who were in danger of losing their meeting place. The book has raised over £1,000 so far. I read loads of books and I particularly like David Walliams as he makes me laugh. I learned that I love to write books and I want to write more. I am already on my next book.
I hope my readers like the book and enjoy the book. It is aimed at 6-10 year olds although slightly older children may like this too. I really hope you enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.
