Beatrix S. Tambunanabout this book: Gobbles grows up and discovers his fate as a turkey. See how he plays a trick at the farm.
We are expected to play a certain role by those who raised us. However, we can change our fate by empowering change."
This book was written to show how Gobbles' wit outsmarted humans on Thanksgiving day. This isn't about promoting a turkey free Thanksgiving (although some might interpret it that way)but it's message is about changing your destiny in a humoristic way.
This book is a thanksgiving favorite suitable for kids of all ages.
I would like to say that I am not a vegetarian and I think turkeys are funny looking. My daughter gave me a lecture on how turkeys were not even served on Thanksgiving. Other foods originally served were duck, corn, and even clams. I find it fascinating that turkeys have such importance in our grocery's stores because of its popularity. It's funny because we wait for them to be fattened up so we can eat lean meat
