about this book: The Princess has been stuck in the Purple Tower for twelve long years. Winds wail, waves crash on the tower's dark stone -- and a wicked witch and a fat green spider guard the door. Now the wicked witch has cut the Princess'long golden hair and is spinning it to gold! Will a brave Prince on a white horse ever come to rescue her? Or will the super brave Princess get out of there on her own. A brilliant version of the well-known Rapunzel tale. Fun rhyming text by award-winning author Ellie Crowe and gorgeous, imaginative illustrations by talented UK illustrator Janet King. Great for young children.
I love retold -- or fractured -- fairytales and this book was really fun to write. I was thrilled when Janet King agreed to illustrate the story -- I'm sure you'll agree that each illustration is a perfect work of art. I hope my imaginative readers will draw some pictures of their own and send them to me at elliecrowe1@gmail.com. I'd also love to hear what their favorite fairytale is and how they think it could be retold.
