R. M. Smithabout this book: I published a picture book back in 2010 about a young, mischievous boy named Rudy, who wasn't very kind to his little brother and sister. He met up with a creature named Cirrus, and in short, experienced a new perspective on his relationship with his siblings. I've taken that story and adapted it to an early reader chapter book entitled, "Reckless Rudy and the Green Vase." Much of the story is the same, but many elements have changed due to the free-flowing chapter book format.
Here is the description: This is a story of a careless boy who has fun bullying his little brother and sister. He's not exactly a mean-spirited guy, but he has a way of getting himself into trouble. On this occasion he inadvertently breaks an antique vase and blames it on his little brother and sister. This gets him out of immediate trouble but not for long. He winds up spending a fantastical afternoon flying, running, and falling back into reality--all the while, learning a thing or two!
