Vickie Johnstoneabout this book: Have you ever wished your cat could talk or wondered where he/she goes when you are not around? Kiwi in Cat City is the first book in a six-book (so far!) series.
I wrote this book in 2002, and the heroine is based on a cat I used to have called Kiwi. She was cute, intelligent, very fluffy and rather cheeky. In the books, she surprises her two human pals, James and Amy, by talking to them. In fact, she has wanted to communicate with them for a long time, but it just isn't the done thing! Cue an adventure in which Kiwi whisks the children off to a land inhabited by felines, where Inspector Furrball is investigating a catnapping.
I try to inject a lot of humour into the series to make them fun to read, while also including some positive themes like loyalty, friendship, honesty and the power of standing together. The children learn many new things and meet loads of different creatures on their adventures. Each book takes place somewhere different - Cat City, the human world, the Land of Giant Mice, a haunted house, Ancient Egypt and the magical, dark Isle are just a few.
I published Kiwi in Cat City in 2011, and have been writing almost constantly since. I love these cats and hope you do too. The series is illustrated by Nikki McBroom. Furry fun for ages 9-99, the book has 25 5-star reviews on Amazon US.
