Stephen Lamoreauxabout this book: The Little Wave is a beautifully illustrated environmental children's story, written in rhyme, that kids between the ages of 4 [read to] and 10 [read themselves] will find engaging, entertaining and educational.
This is the story of a wave that is born in a pond and living quite happily, when something occurs that changes its world. The wave learns from a duck that is passing by, what has happened and how mankind is ruining the environment. The wave takes it upon itself to find children and teach them to change their ways. To do so, it must leave the pond and travel down a brook and stream. Along its journey, it meets other creatures that explain other abuses of nature by mankind.
The appreciation of our planet and respect for the natural world has become front-page news regarding global warming, clean water shortages, garbage accumulation, depletion of natural resources, etc. Human behavior must change if we are to continue to inhabit the Earth into the future. "Nature is patient, but time is running out."
