Book: Turbo Gets A Home by Mary Anderson Lee

Mary Anderson Leeabout this book: This book is based on a true story and is about the rescue of a little dog who was abandoned. My friend adopted this dog, and this describes the experience from the dog's point of view.
Adults love the book, but it is written for children to teach them to treat animals well, animals have feelings, and animals need friends just like we do.
It took 4 months to write, several more months to get it published myself.
I had an illustrator that did a great job with all the scenes, and I chose the cover from her artwork. I did a bit of research on animal rescue and the SPCA.
This book was the very beginnings of a long-term dream of writing, and it was the launch of my becoming an author.
I would like to say to my readers that this book is designed to be read to children in small groups. At the end of the book there are discussion questions to prompt children to talk about their feelings and experiences with pets, or just to be able to relate Turbo's abandonment to their own experiences as children. It can be used for remedial readers, for ESL learners (as it is presently in Germany), in the classroom, or at the library for story times.
