Andrew W. Fairchildabout this book: Rose and Her Amazing Nose is a children's picture book that was inspired by my personal life as a child. When I was growing up, I was always teased because I had larger than life ears. I really didn't mind people teasing me because I learned to realize that I had an advantage that people with normal size ears did not have and that was I could always hear everything. The mice in the walls, the worms moving around in the ground and the wind howling through the tree tips. My ears became especially helpful around Christmas time when everyone around me was always whispering about my presents. Rose, who is the main character in the story may not have large ears; but she does have an unusually large nose. Rose learns that instead of feeling down about her nose, she becomes excited about all the wonderful things her nose can do. Rose proves that being different can truly be amazing!
