Susanne Blumerabout this book: Wooly is new to Huckleberry Farm and doesn't know anyone. He wakes up his first morning there and hears a rooster crowing. Wooly decides to go meet the chickens and become friends.
But can a dog and a chicken be friends?
Butterscotch is the rooster in charge of the coop, and he is not so sure that a big dog can make a safe friend for his hens. Can Wooly convince him to be friends?
Come along with Wooly as he meets the chickens and learns all about how fascinating and fun chickens can be!
Wooly Meets The Chickens is inspired by the Great Pyrenees dogs on our farm and their interaction with our chickens. As a chicken breeder, I've worked with hundreds of new chicken owners to help them establish a flock. Backyard chicken keeping has become very popular and for good reason! Having chickens is fun and rewarding, and they make you breakfast.
In this beautifully illustrated book, Wooly discovers many interesting facts about chickens, and your children will too! If you would like to learn more about raising chickens, I have written a comprehensive kid's guide called Pip! Zip! Hatch! Love!. Both books are available on Amazon in Kindle and Paperback.
