Deborah Smith Fordabout this book: Ford's children's book series, "Allie's Adventures," is about a child who discovers fun and responsibility during her adventures around the world. Her journey begins on a farm, an apple farm. The title of that book is "The Little Apple." Her farm was named that due to being located close to The Big Apple (New York City).
Allie begins learning responsibility at a young age. Her farm, unlike others, has no farm animals, just apples. However she does have a pet dog named Baron, a stray cat and the occasional deer visits in her backyard.
Soon this young lady moves with her family to Florida. The book that tells about her move to the south, and more, is called "The Little Goat in Africa." In that story she learns many new things at home, in school, on the beaches, The Everglades, plus other locations.
Allie continues her journeys, traveling "here and there" continuing to learn all kinds of things. She also continues to have fun, relish new experiences, and above all, make new friends - some human, some not!

What a charming bookThis is such a charming book, which I have read many times to my 3 year old grandson. He loves the colorful pictures, and practices his counting on each page. I look forward to reading him the books which follow in the series! [by Lesley Staples]
My son loves this bookWe've had this book for a couple years now and my son still asks for it. He pretty much reads it to me now. He loves the story and illustrations. He now wants to go to an Apple farm. I would highly recommend this book for children of all ages! [by Cherise K.]
A Happy Adventure
a comment by Deborah Smith FordThis book, and now two, makes for an adventurous book series for children from non-readers to junior high. Although I hear adults of all ages enjoy it too. There are recipes in the back of each book, apple page counters for beginners in first book, and Allie helps us to discover even more, with future books on the way!
FUN for allThis book series' first book might be for the very young, readers and non-readers, but the new second book (in both soft and hard covers) is a chapter book and FUN for all! I look forward to Allie's next adventure, and more to follow!
