Book: The Secret Lives of Chickens or Tales from the Chickenyard and Beyond by Sunny Franson

Sunny Fransonabout this book: Chickens and their unique behavior continue to fascinate, puzzle, and amaze. You always learn more. Chickens are not the lowly, clucking birds that we have been taught to think that they are. They have feelings all their own, they plan, they can be cunning, they organize, and they have a very strict and complex society. They have specific calls, chortles, clucks, shrieks, and more, and each sound seems to have meaning. At least other members of the flock seem to know how to react or respond. They run from danger, they sprint to food, they figure out how to reach 'off-limits' food, and mostly, they enjoy life that they accept on a daily basis. If you just watch them, you can see all this, and you can learn a lot about how to enjoy life.
Slightly altering the format for the second edition was a much fun as writing the book in the first place, because I could re-live those memories and experiences. In the two hardcover editions, the book doesn't change, only the format, from 10x8 to 8x10. The second edition is available now on Amazon.
