L. T. Saunders about this book: London-based translator Ellah Flanders finds herself sent out to Brazil to teach English. She arrives in an exotic German town called Lansburg in the south where the locals are rich, blonde, gorgeous and out to have a good time - a bit like Ellah herself. To complete the picture of dubious perfection, she meets handsome lawyer Felix Knight and the romance of her life begins. But who is this Mr Knight really?
As Ellah's relationship with him grows so do her doubts as to the sincerity of the undivided attention he seems to pay her. And when those around her begin to encourage her uncertainties in Felix Knight, Ellah descends into a spiral of distrust for the entire town. What's more, she begins to think there is something positively rotten in this idyllic Bavarian oasis. But is she right to have misgivings? Damn right she is, and the sooner she realises this, the better chance she has of staying alive.

Even my boyfriend loved this book! He read over my shoulder then read it for himself. We were both gripped by the twists and turns and enjoyed the colourful characters, especially Lizzie from Brissie. You gotta get this one :) [by Theresa]
