Jane V. Blanchardabout this book: When I talk about the Camino de Santiago, people have a hard time imagining its appeal. For this reason, I put together this 130+ collection of photos and illustrations so you can see for yourself how remarkable the Camino is and why it appeals to so many people.
I call it a photo journey because the book follows my 2011 pilgrimage along the Camino Francés, a route across northern Spain from the small frontier town of St. Jean Pied de Port in France, over the majestic Pyrenees, and westward for 500 miles to Santiago de Compostela.
According to one of my reviewers, this is "A great selection of photographs to give you a taste for the landscape and cities you will pass on the Camino Frances. A wonderful resource to accompany the other Camino books by this author."
Through these photos, I hope to show you Spain from a hiker's point of view, up close and personal and, perhaps, to entice you to experience the Camino for yourself. For me and many other, it is a life-changing experience.
If you have completed the Camino, I hope these photos will help you recall special moments and reawaken the Spirit of the Camino.
