Patrizia Murrayabout this book: Have you ever had a hilarious meeting on a blind date? When friends finally persuade Mia to meet Rob, neither of them expects to end up at police headquarters!
After all is straightened out, they fall in love, at least Mia falls in love. She's not so sure about Rob. When Rob finally confesses that he is off to the volatile middle east for a two year stint working on the oil rigs, Mia is devastated, & turns to Colby for ski trips, parties and romance, finally agreeing to marry him. However, she is worried about Rob, and doesn't really want to get married as long as Rob's fate at the hands of rebel kidnappers is unknown.
Meanwhile, Rob regrets leaving Mia, but now that she's marrying another man, even if he escapes his captors, it will be too late for them.
I always ask couples how they met, and I liked this story, told by friends. Other than the circumstances of their meeting, everything else comes from my fertile imagination. There is a background of skiing in the Canadian Rockies, so if you have ever been to Banff, alberta, this may bring back memories. If you haven't, you'll want to go try out the world class slopes, that hosted the 1988 Olympic Games.
