Connie Jordan about this book: Personification is a book depicting the struggle of Black Americans. I believe truth is a beautiful thing and this book tells of my truths as a Black American, how it has affected me and my wish that things will one day be different in the attitudes displayed. Racism is an irrational emotion that leads nowhere. It is hurtful, dehumanizing and it plain makes no sense. We are all on the same journey here on earth and just think about it, if we all began to accept each other this journey would be so much more enjoyable. Truth is I have cried so many tears because of what I have experienced and witnessed when it comes to hate and racism, unnecessary tears when I think about what it would take to defeat hate - one word - acceptance. Though we all may be slightly different, we are all alike in so many ways. Love is the answer that resonates in my heart my hope is that we start moving in that direction before our blind, unjustified hate leads us to a place we don't want to go.
