Chris Dahl about this book: Book 3 in the Death Row Stories Series is a unique one: art created by murderers on Death Row. They collect scraps of cardboard, left-over paper; they barter with smugglers for good pens, decent paints and colored pencils. They hide their art supplies away when word of a shake-down hits Death Row. And they produce some fascinating art. Aside from the standard greeting card stuff and half-naked women and tattoo designs, there are serious yearnings of the soul expressed, as wel the very depths of these tortured and twisted psyches. While it is not your typical coffee table reading, the book is mesmerizing. Also included in this slim volume of art are some of the letters I have gotten from the guys on death row. Notice the quality of their hand-writing and how it -- as much as the art itself -- projects a persona. All around it is a very personal but very different type of look into the minds of these killers.
