Book: An Eclectic Anthology - Fiction, Politics and a Splash of Insanity by John Gramlingcategories: Book, Fiction, Politics, Non-Fiction, Young Adult, Coming of Age, Anthology
John Gramlingabout this book: This book provided me with the opportunity to place some of my favorite pieces, both snippets of previously released material as well as material that is entirely new. There's a little bit of something for everyone within this anthology, lighthearted flash fiction, controversial political content, historical short stories, semi-autobiographical short stories.
Collected over the course of one year, the stories and articles selected for this anthology were very carefully selected as to create dynamic ebb and flow that isn't to political, isn't to fluffy, isn't too dark, I really wanted to put together an anthology that represented the scope and range of my writing, that I'm not confined to any particular genre, I enjoy journalism just as much as I enjoy writing novellas and novels.
Choose you poison here, there's bound to be something inside that you will absolutely love.
My target audience is a liberal, open minded, audience that is willing to consider new ideas and throw away the old ones that simply aren't working. Through the medium of fictional characters I introduce you to the underbelly of early 1900s Detroit, the child labor, the suffering and unsustainable living conditions that provided the comforts for the middle class, who at the time didn't think twice about the absolute social abomination occurring under their feet. Changing from an in your face assault on the systemic structure at large, switching to a gentle story about a man sitting on the bench of the Grand Central station observing time and it's mysterious ways, A personal story about my miserable trip to Australia, The case for compulsory voting, and the frighting reality that American intellectualism is under attack.
