Joanne Kaiser about this book: This novel came to me in a dream. Just a bit of it. So, I banged it out. Then more came to me in other dreams. And by the time I was done, the book was done. It is about a young girl based in my hometown of Roseau, Minn who has the abilities to KNOW (I KNEW) about the problems certain animals are having, ie: a doe with a Indian needle in its knee, a elephant who has been poisoned, going into the past to help a horse and coming back with an 1800's nightgown on, a white horse in Saudia Arabia and a friendship that lasts forever. She and others find a black community and help them. This novel took me about 2 months to finish. No matter how much I reread my writing, I couldn't change a thing. The cover relates to her first 'animal helping'.
I researched everything I wrote. Everyone that reads this novel has come to me with a need/impulse to do things for others...not just normal 'volunteer work under someone elses needs, politics and agendas, but, off the cuff needs that are in front of them more then ever before. Being involved with the day to day needs of others is something that will bring ANYONE to their knees and the knowledge of helping others is so very humbling. I have had men AND women tell me that their worlds are different colors of the rainbow now. They don't go looking for things to do ... they just stand still and get overwhelmed by the difference in their surroundings.
