Book: The Angel Corps - The Necessity of Putting Others First by Andy Boerger

Andy Boergerabout this book: "The Angel Corps: The Necessity of Putting Others First" is a book about saving the world - or at least making it worth saving - one act of service at a time. Recalling Mother Theresa's statement that 'we can not do great things; only little things with great love', The Angel Corps contains personal stories about the author (or someone in his acquaintance) answering a call to provide service in a particular situation - a call from 'The Angel Corps' - and the wonderful things that happened as a result.
The book shows how these small acts done 'with great love', requiring so little of the person rendering service in proportion to the benefit to the person (or creature) receiving it, offer a life of great rewards and happiness to all who choose to 'join' the Corps and commit to being of help, every day, to someone in need.
The book gently reminds each of us of the times that an 'angel' helped us carry a burden, or lifted one from us, and also the times when we did the same for another - and all the 'warm, tingly' feelings that followed. The book encourages us to think of ourselves as angels, and commit to a permanent readiness to be there for those we come upon, as we go about our lives, who require an angel's assistance. We start by each day simply affirming "I'm in".
In the spirit of "Tuesdays With Morrie" and "The Four Agreements", "The Angel Corps" offers simple, beautiful and inspirational lessons that, when practiced, lead to a greater sense of connection not only to our brothers and sisters, but to all of Life.
