Alan Parksabout this book: I wrote my book Seriously Mum, Whats an Alpaca? last year after being told by lots of people that we met that we had enough stories for a book. When the weather got too hot to do anything else, in June last year, I sat down and started writing. This was the result. I have been really pleased with the way it has been received. I think the primary readers of my book are people who have enjoyed titles like 'Driving over Lemons' and animal lovers. We, as a couple, have done something exciting, and some would say brave (or maybe stupid) but it has been quite a ride. This book chronicles our alpaca stories, good and sad, and also our interaction with locals, and cowboy builders. It has not been an easy ride, but hopefully this book gives you a feel for our life.
Originally I titled this book 'Bloody Hell, What's an Alpaca?' but itunes and some other sites did not like the name. I also considered calling it, 'Into the Frying Pan' as the area we live in is called the Frying Pan of Spain. I felt I needed something that included the alpacas in the title.
Thanks for reading
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
Pleasure to readLOVED IT! It was a laugh out loud, omg, tell everyone about it book! The different "journeys" they go through almost on a daily basis the first year are incredible. It keeps you laughing even though at the same time you are saying "OMG!". It is one of the books I will keep and re-read again and again. [by Shari Cook-Freese]
