Book Review: No Angel by Joseph Alexandercategories: Book, Psychological, Grief, Guilt, Love, Coma, Thriller, Stalking, Teenage, Drugs, Rebel, Obsession, Afterlife
Joseph Alexanderabout this book: This is my first novel (novella) and has taken me a number of years to complete. At times, it has been a torturous and agonising process but, even at the darkest times, something always drove me on. There have also been moments of genuine joy and self-discovery. Although the book is not autobiographical, the kinds of personal struggle explored very much reflect my own.
he title 'No Angel' was used for its conventional, colloquial meaning to refer to the flaws in the personality and reputation of the main characters; brother and sister, Kim and Michael. It also reflects the possibility that Michael might be a voice from the afterlife. The story was inspired by my interest in human psychology and spirituality; the possibility of an afterlife, as well as the parameters of human consciousness. One of the messages of 'No Angel' is that love ultimately requires pain to be faced. The book cover is meant to convey a sense in which this is ultimately teenage Kim's story.

Raw EnergyThis book really pulls no punches. It's one of the rawest books Ive ever read. The main character Michael is unforgettable; he really gets inside your head. Read this book - it's worth it.
