Jim Parksabout this book: Charlie is out of school. He welcomes a few weeks of well-deserved time off. After his time off, he begins his new job in a consulting firm in Northwest Arkansas.
Quickly, he finds himself on yet another "Charlie Walker Adventure Ride". His navigation through karma events ensure that his life is never boring. Even with all the craziness going on around him, he proves to be a positive, likeable character.
"Karma Still Goes Around" is a sequel to "Karma Goes Around". Both are part of the Karma Novels series. Readers will find Charlie Walker's new adventures and karma events to be a fun read.
Positive reader feedback from "Karma Goes Around" encouraged me to write a sequel. It seemed like Charlie Walker had a lot more living to do. I wanted the word "Karma" in the title, so "Karma Still Goes Around" seemed like a natural title for the sequel. This book was published about six months after Volume 1. I took a total of around six weeks off during this time, and the initial draft took three to five weeks to write. Editing is what takes time: proofreading, polishing, greasing the skids so the story flows for the reader all the way through; that takes time.
The Karma Novels series are distinct in their chapter size. Some authors use 15, 20, sometimes even more pages to construct a chapter. There is nothing wrong with that. Many writers do this.
My chapters are much shorter and readers like it. Most chapters are only four pages long. There are a few chapters six to ten pages long, but that's only when a longer chapter is warranted to keep the story flowing.
The shorter chapters make readers feel they're accomplishing something. Other readers are so busy getting through the day that they only have short blocks of time to read. Chapter endings entice readers to continue reading and my format facilitates that.
For me, short chapters work.
