W. Royce Adams about this book: A retired English professor, I spent much of my career working with students who hated to read or had trouble learning to read well. The experience prompted me to write a series of books for young reluctant readers. I began by writing a fantasy adventure series of six books called The Rairarubia Tales. Not all young readers are interested in fantasy, so I tried my hand at more realistic and contemporary stories, which resulted in ME & JAY, an adventure story, dealing with the exploits of two thirteen-year-olds whose bad decisions create more trouble than they bargained for.
As one reviewer states, the novel is "An adventurous page turner which I, a 70-ish grandpa, actually enjoyed reading. Adams captures the 'Tween" lingo beautifully and imbued it with some good lessons about the consequences of making risky peer-influenced choices." The book is deliberately short, fast paced and designed to keep the reader reading. It has won The Legacy Award from Writers Notes Magazine and a Fresh Voice Award from USABookNews.com. A sequel, JAY, is available for those who like ME & JAY.
