Shamara S. Davisabout this book: This is the second book in The Adventure of Marco and Carla series. In this adventure the young adventures end up in the mysterious Forest of Faces. No one goes into the Forest of Faces, because some who go in never come out.
What inspired me to write, well I was looking at pictures of all kinds of trees and saw one online that looked like it formed a face so the title popped into my head and it started from there.
The primary reader of this book are children 9-13 years old.
This books unlike the first volume in the series took me a little longer to write. I found myself changing around the characters a lot and thinking whether or not this adventure was a little too much. Luckily I finished it and thought it was a great story.
I chose this cover because it looked mysterious. When you look down that path of trees you want to know whats at the end or whats larking behind them.
Hardest part of writing the second book was thinking of what trouble I could put the children in this time around. Thinking of a creative way for them to get in and out of the situation.
what to read next: if you read and liked this book...
