Book: Finding Family - My Search for Roots and the Secrets in My DNA by Richard Hill
|5 stars based on the 3 most helpful Amazon reviews|
Richard Hillabout this book: The story of my personal search for roots started an adoptee revolution. In 2007 I used genetic genealogy DNA tests to discover and reunite with my biological family.
After my story was told in a front-page article in The Wall Street Journal, thousands of adoptees began to search for their first families. In spite of sealed adoption records and decades of secrecy, many of them are now enjoying the same success that I did.
In 2008 I created DNA-Testing-Adviser.com, a web site that summarizes my story and educates adoptees and others about DNA testing. But people kept telling me that I needed to share my whole story in the form of a book. Recently the book was published and the response has been phenomenal.
Experts in both adoption and genetic genealogy have praised Finding Family.
Adam Pertman, Executive Director of the Donaldson Adoption Institute and author of Adoption Nation wrote: "Finding Family tells a gripping, inspirational story, but it also does more: It provides a genuinely useful self-help guide for adopted people, genealogists and anyone else who wants to explore their personal history."
Blaine Bettinger, author of The Genetic Genealogist blog, called the book "a complete and entertaining saga from A to Z."
