Author V.S. Vashistabout this book: Dead But Living follows the journey of Eric who after cheating cancer at the last stage tries to find the true meaning of his new found life. He has never done any good to any one in his life and he is pretty sure that something EVIL has saved him. He knew that he had to re-pay whosoever had saved him because that is what he would have done.

While chasing the reason behind his survival he comes to know about the mysteries about the place that he had spent his childhood and also about the people he had met recently.

To find the truth, he goes back to Glenville to meet Father Frederick who could guide him. Instead, he finds two explorers who are after a treasure in the village forests. He follows them.

No one had ever gone inside the forest and when he loses their track, he finds himself in unknown territory. However, he encounters something that tells him the truth about his losing their track and how he is linked with the two explorers.

He comes to know that he is the Chosen one but not by virtue but by luck. Though this seems alright at start, slowly he comes to know that he is wrong for the job as he does not posses the required power and knowledge to encounter the dark forces.

A whole race depends on him for their existence but he does not know what to do. Will he be able to fulfill his promises? And he is not even sure whether the people he is helping are Good or Evil. He has trusted them blindly, but, will this trust answer his questions. Is he destined for something or is he being used?

Amazon Reviews:

• "A nice read that is meant to test the readers in thinking about what is going to happen next. A must for those who love fantasy and adventure."

• "One of those stories where each character, each dialogue and each sentence takes the story forward. The central story keeps you hooked up throughout the length of the novel and by the time you finish it, you want more of it."
