Scott Harperabout this book: "Quintana Roo, Yucatan" is the eighth book by critically-acclaimed novelist Scott Harper. This book is garnering 5-star reviews and a film producer has already expressed interest in a movie adaptation. Scott has had over 30 short stories published in addition to his books. He also works in the film and comic book industries.
"Quintana Roo, Yucatan" is Scott's longest project to date, coming in at a bit over 105,000 words. From the beginning of the of the outlining stage to the finished, published book, Scott worked on this project for nearly two years. Whereas this book has a small element of science fiction/fantasy in it, it is mostly pure action/adventure, rather than Scott's usual paranormal genre.
In the writing of this book, quite a bit of research into the general climate and terrain of the Yucatan peninsula region of Mexico was done. Yet the most challenging part of this project was the proper translation of the small bit of Spanish in the book's dialogue. Luckily, a native Spanish-speaking friend of the author's fiancée (best-selling, critically-acclaimed paranormal author Desirée Lee) volunteered to beta-read the manuscript and check the Spanish. Book reviewers are commenting positively on the realism of the book's descriptions of the area in which the story is set.
Please enjoy "Quintana Roo, Yucatan"!
