Book: Kidnap by Neil Colby

Neil Colbyabout this book: 'Kidnap' is an action-adventure story with a couple of twists. The story involves a floatplane (seaplane) pilot who becomes ensnared in a kidnapping plot, and much of the action happens on a beautiful tropical island in the Pacific.
The fast-paced plot will appeal to readers who like action-packed, dramatic stories. There is some profanity, and the book is aimed at adult readers.
The idea, strangely enough, came from two graffiti-scrawled words that I spotted from the train while commuting to work. The first word was 'Kidnap', which became the title, and the other was a name that reminded me of a person I knew many years ago - and this gave shape to the main female character in the story.
This is my second book - the other is 'Harrows Gate', a steampunkish story set in the Victorian era - however I have written for newspapers and magazines in the past, and I've also produced a number of film and TV scripts.
For me, every story has a slightly different function. Readers of 'Harrows Gate' will probably be creeped out, while readers of 'Kidnap' will hopefully be pulled along for an enjoyable, and turbulent, ride.
