Patricia Yager Delagrangeabout this book: My book is about Jessee Bradford, a veterinarian in Santa Barbara, California, who returns home one day to find his wife Serena and little daughter Sofia missing. He has no idea if they were kidnapped or if Serena left him. Thus begins the search for Jessee's wife and daughter. After six months, Jessee decides to leave the city that carries so many memories, to take over his grandfather's vet practice in Earlham, Iowa, where he meets Laura, an accomplished equestrian. But his search for Serena and Sofia never stops. At a gallery opening he stumbles upon an artist named She, whose paintings remind him of his wife's artwork. She turns out to be the answer to the whereabouts of Jessee's family.
• "There is a nice, natural rhythm to the author's writing style. The storyline moves seamlessly between California and Iowa and the author paints a detailed picture of the lifestyles of both places."
• "Another phenominal book. I can't put it down."
